Baby Love
Two days ago, one of my best friends had a baby. This is pretty monumental (I mean, duh, but I’ll explain), especially since I’ve been best friends with the same four girls since grade 9, and this is the first baby in our group. It feels so different than when someone you know, someone older or someone in your family has a baby. This is just so close to home! When it’s one of your closest friends,...

Thanks, readbooksonline.net, for helping me to expand my mind while I’m supposed to be working instead of just letting it turn to mush on tumblr/flickr/various blogs and music sites all day long. Now I want to watch one of the movie adaptations of the book - does anyone have an opinion on which is the best??

The latest blog entry from Josh Ritter describing his experience in a Finnish sauna. It’s entertaining and worth a read. He is a wonderfully expressive writer and so funny! ‘The first thought to jump into my head is, “So this is where they keep the wizards.”’

I switched my theme.
I find it so hard to pick a theme that is exactly what I want with all the little variables and different things you can adjust…I really wish you could see what is customizable with each theme BEFORE having to actually install it. Get on that, tumblr. Anyways, I’ve settled on this one for now. Thoughts?

Rush Hour Traffic, OR LACK THEREOF
It gives me a sort of delicious thrill when I have a rush hour drive home which is amazingly easy and fast and free of traffic. I feel like I’ve cheated the gods, or something - clutching the steering wheel in disbelief and furtively glancing around me, wondering what the hell is going on and where all those other assholes that are usually in my way have gone to (FYI, assholes = any persons...

growingupindie: Track 1: “Come What May,” soundtrack “Moulin Rouge” Freedom. Bliss. Invincibility. This song is about the power of love. Track 2: “Lay Lady Lay,” Bob Dylan This is one of the most classic love songs because of its intimacy and sensuality. Magnet does a great cover of this song that really embellishes the romanticism (violins, etc). Track 3: “Casimir Pulaski Day,” Sufjan Stevens...
